Jack is back...Jack O'Lantern, that is

The visit to a pumpkin patch has become an annual ritual for us and we made the trip today. We try to do it typically on the first weekend in October for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is the weather. We were able to sneak in our trip today in between a blustery storm yesterday, and a dip in the weather again tomorrow.

We have a lot of these places to choose from not far from us, but we went to a favorite we discovered when K1.0's preschool class took a fieldtrip there last year. Come to think of it, Tom went then too, even though it was during the week, because he'd just been laid off from work (thank God we've gotten through that!)

Grandma Peggy and Grandpa Jay were able to join us, and we had a lovely time. We also ran into one of K1.0's pals and her family, which was a super-bonus.

B2.0 was crazy about the pumpkin farm and called her ride in the red wagon a "hay ride", which I guess it was technically because there was a little bit of old hay in the bottom of it.

K1.0 got her face painted with a pink mask design. B2.0 checked out the poultry and rabbits and we ate a ton of Kettle Korn.

Then we hauled the kids out to select a wagon-load of pumpkins for our front porch, several of which will be carved a day or two before Halloween.

It was a ton of good clean (muddy) fun!
