Holding the fort...

Tom has started his crazy travel schedule that will keep him away more days than not for the rest of the month. Of course, for the first day of this, I had only 5 hours of sleep last night in order to make up some time at work—not the best way to begin—but everyone is still alive at the end of the day, so it wasn't too bad.

I took kid 1.0 to get a haircut today, to escape the house. We go to a kid's salon in this cute little "rustic village" style shopping center, complete with free range chickens and ducks galore. So after the haircut, we went out to check out the poultry. Baby 2.0 thought the chickens were cool, particularly when one of the roosters went off, but the ducks were definitely the fav. Unfortunately, just as she was really getting in to the swing of "kack kack", K1.0 fell down in a duck-mucky mud puddle. That cut the affair short. We headed back to the car, where I stripped K1.0 down, swabbed her off with my emergency supply of baby-wipes and told her not to touch her eyes or mouth until we could wash properly at home. ICK! B2.0 was not amused by our early departure.

So, that's the most exciting news from here for today. Nighty night.
