And time goes by...,

So, it's been about 2 weeks since we spoke last, and as always, there has been much going on.

Kid 1.0 wrapped up preschool for the summer break, at least until the preschool summer camp in July. We went to the end of year picnic at a park very close to our house, and a great time was had by all.

Along with the end of preschool came the end of the dance year too. Kid 1.0 has been taking weekly dance classes since September, and last week was the big end of year recital. She and her class had the second dance number in the show (thank God), and they were on stage at the civic auditorium for about 3 minutes...and that was the culmination of 1 full-costume photo day at class, 1 full dress rehearsal, and 1 dance day dress out in 2 weeks! I was really glad to be done with it, but it was worth the effort. We'll have the professional photos and video in a few weeks to share, but here are some photos from her dress rehearsal, and with her nanny, and the nanny's father the night of the show. They brought roses for our little prima!

Next week, she starts a summer series of Tiny Tigers Taekwondo classes, so my ballerina's gonna try opening up a can of whoop-ass for a change!

Not to be outdone in the milestone department, baby 2.0 (I'm gonna have to stop calling her that soon) had her first haircut on Friday. I was really impressed with how well she handled the time in the stylist's chair, uh, boat...

Baby 2.0 also had her 18 month check-up today. She was utterly unamused by the whole thing, and kicked and screamed with all her might for both the nurse and the doctor. I share her stats with the caveat that they wrote in her chart—"wiggly"—so who knows how accurate these numbers really are?

Height: 32 1/4" (70%)
Weight: 24 lb 2 oz. (45%)
Head: 18 7/8" (85%) (look at the Sputnik on that kid :-)

She got one vaccination, and a clean bill of health otherwise. Now she won't have to see the doc again until she's two!

I am working my tail off, which is why it took so long for me to do another post. Our other designer is on maternity leave, and although I am supposed to work only 24 hours/week, I am doing a lot of after-hours work to try to keep myself (and our projects) from falling too far behind.

Tom has also been busy. He has started sailing again on a friend's boat one or two days a week, which he really enjoys. He is also working very hard to prepare his presentations for a conference he is doing in August...they've invited him to speak as a subject-matter expert in his field—a very nice feather in his cap.

Hugs and kisses to all!
